At a Veteran Job Fair, you can begin the selection process with what is normally one of the final stages of a face-to-face meeting with the candidate. We present these events in cooperation with leading corporations, news media, industry associations, veterans organizations, and government agencies. All Veteran Job Fairs take place in major military markets. To attract job candidates to the fairs, we promote the events intensively to our huge database of registered candidates, and we run display ads in major newspapers in the areas where they will take place.

Why Hire Veterans?

If you are not familiar with hiring veterans, we would like to share three reasons why military personnel will make great employees for your organization:

  • Well-trained. Veterans possess skills that are critical for an organization to succeed. They are trained to be mission-oriented and to work as a team. They possess critical skills for organizational success including discipline, responsibility, respect, and unparalleled work ethic.
  • Skills that overlap. Veterans have been trained in specific skills that greatly overlap civilian work. Whether driving an 18-wheel tractor-trailer or leading an organization in an executive position, the military provides people with the training to be successful in trades, as well as the experience and conditioning required for management positions.
  • Diverse backgrounds. The military employs a highly diverse workforce. Approximately 45% of our candidates are women and/or ethnic minorities, enabling you to connect with skilled and diverse candidates through our events.

Venue Information

  • The Job Fair will take place in the Ballroom located in the South Hall Section of the Von Braun Center.
  • Exhibitor set up is between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Exhibitor will have a table with linen and two chairs.
  • Coffee will be available at 9:00 a.m. in Meeting Room 1 designated with RecruitMilitary "Exhibitors Only" signage.
  • The Exhibitors lunch will be served in Meeting Room 1 as well and designated with RecruitMilitary "Exhibitors Only" signage.
  • Clients requiring access to electric should contact RecruitMilitary in advance to make payment and should bring their own power strip and extension cords. Without prior notification and payment, there is no guarantee electric will be provided.
  • No outside food or beverage is allowed to be distributed to attendees.
  • Hotspots will be available in the exhibitor area. Depending upon the amount of usage, service can be spotty. Exhibitors who rely on WiFi are encouraged to bring their own mobile hotspot.

Shipping Instructions

Exhibitors are encouraged to ship into their hotel or a local shipping office.

Parking Information

The Von Braun Center has 3 main parking lots. South Hall Parking Garage (P2) is a covered parking garage providing protection from weather and access to all venues with convenience to South Hall events. Access to the South Hall Parking Garage (P2) is from Clinton Avenue, turn onto Pollard Street and follow signs.

There is a fee to park in the Center's garage. Current fee is $10 (subject to change).

DIRECTIONS

From I-65 (North or South) Take Exit 340 to Huntsville I-565 headed East. Travel approximately 19 miles to exit 19-C to Washington Street. Turn right on Washington Street, cross over the bridge to the first traffic light – Monroe Street. Turn right onto Monroe Street and travel to the 3rd traffic light (Clinton Avenue). To reach the South Hall Parking Garage, turn right (west) on Clinton Avenue from Monroe Street. Continue to the next traffic light and turn left on Pollard Avenue to access the South Hall Parking Garage.

Entering Huntsville from 72 West (from Scottsboro) Take exit 19-A to Jefferson Street after Highway 72 West merges into I-565. Follow Jefferson Street to the first red light at Monroe Street, and turn right. Stay on Monroe until you come to the Clinton Avenue red light. Continue on Clinton and take a left on Pollard Street to access the South Hall Parking Garage.

Coming in from Guntersville, Highway 431 West 431 west will become Governors Drive. Follow Governors Drive across California Street and past Huntsville Hospital on your right. Turn right at the traffic light at Monroe Street. Go through the light at St. Clair, and turn left at the next light to stay on Monroe. For the South Hall Parking Garage, continue on Clinton Avenue and take a left on Pollard Street.
