Philadelphia Veterans Job Fair

This event took place on August 5, 2021 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.

Eagles Host Career Fair For Veterans

“PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Philadelphia Eagles opened their doors on Thursday for a career fair, where veterans are helping other veterans. Many veterans struggle to enter the corporate world after military life. Sometimes, they don’t know how to properly sell their skills and talents to employers.”

The Hire More Heroes Act is misguided. There is no veterans’ unemployment crisis.

“Americans may be shocked to learn that there is no veterans’ unemployment crisis. The unemployment rate in 2014 for post-9/11 veterans was 7.2 percent, the lowest level in seven years of tracking these veterans. ”

What Government Should Actually Do To Support Veterans' Employment

“The latest crisis at the Department of Veterans Affairs has called into question again the proper role of government in the care of our veterans. Whereas healthcare is clearly in shambles, veterans’ employment is another realm in which well-meaning government involvement has been inefficient at best and ineffective or counterproductive at worst. ”

Employment and Returning Veterans

“Peter Gudmundsson talked about the availability of jobs for returning service members.”

Beyond Altruism

“Among the fondest memories Peter Gudmundsson ’85 has of his three years as an active-duty U.S. Marine officer was the time in 1987 when, off the coast of Vietnam, he stood on the deck of a U.S. Navy ship looking up at the Soviet planes flying overhead. What was particularly memorable, he says, was not the plane flying overhead, but the reaction of the men in his platoon”

Money For Lunch

“Money for Lunch host Bert Martinez interviewed Peter Gudmundsson. Discussed veteran hiring.”

Hundreds Attend Job Fair As Veterans Battle Unemployment At Home

“Veterans come together at Lincoln Financial Field hoping to chart the next step in their lives — post-military service. They had the chance to connect with 64 employers looking to hire. For Catie Hughes who served in the Navy, its not easy being unemployed after a long career in real estate, and having to go to a career fair for a job. ”

Who Attended?

Very well organized. RM staff helped us find interview space and were very supportive. It's worth the money.
Philadelphia -- Information Technology recruiter
There was a wide variety of opportunities available. This made it valuable to me, due to having a very specific, technical skill set.
Philadelphia -- Navy E-6)
This is a great experience. I may have as many as 5 interviews from this!!!
Philadelphia -- Army, Navy, and National Guard E-5
If you need to hire a veteran, show up at the Philadelphia RecruitMilitary job fair. This one is the best veterans job fair that comes to Philadelphia.
Philadelphia -- Non-profit recruiter
10/10. You get out what you put in. We had a good booth and interviewed on site. We sent out 2 offer letters and are waiting on a response. It took dozens of scheduled interviews and no-shows to get that from a web site.
Philadelphia -- Manufacturing recruiter
This was my first job fair and I attended because of emails from RecruitMilitary about it. I was very pleased. I received an interview and it played out exactly as the organizers described. A company looked for a candidate with skills from the military, but not necessarily the direct market that the job was in. I talked to the company despite it being in a field unrelated to what I envisioned an opportunity to be.
Philadelphia -- Navy E-6
The Philadelphia job fair was an excellent event. The organizers showed great professionalism as they guided all participants through the job fair. This is a top notch event that I will absolutely attend again.
Philadelphia -- Army W-4
