Veteran Opportunity Expo Cancellation Policy

RecruitMilitary does not offer refunds. If an exhibitor is unable to attend a Veteran Opportunity Expo (“Expo”) for which it has already registered, RecruitMilitary will make every effort to allow the exhibitor to attend a future Expo, provided the exhibitor attends the Expo within twelve months of the Invoice Date. However, to qualify, RecruitMilitary must receive a cancellation request at least ten business days' prior to the date of the Expo for which you were registered. Unpaid invoices must be paid whether or not the exhibitor attends the event for which it originally registered. Cancellation requests must be sent via e-mail to support@recruitmilitary.com, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. If a cancellation request is received fewer than ten business days before the Expo, or if the exhibitor does not show up at the Expo at all, then that exhibitor will not be entitled to transfer its registration to a new Expo.

At a Veteran Job Fair, you can begin the selection process with what is normally one of the final stages of a face-to-face meeting with the candidate. We present these events in cooperation with leading corporations, news media, industry associations, veterans organizations, and government agencies. All Veteran Job Fairs take place in major military markets. To attract job candidates to the fairs, we promote the events intensively to our huge database of registered candidates, and we run display ads in major newspapers in the areas where they will take place.

Why Hire Veterans?

If you are not familiar with hiring veterans, we would like to share three reasons why military personnel will make great employees for your organization:

  • Well-trained. Veterans possess skills that are critical for an organization to succeed. They are trained to be mission-oriented and to work as a team. They possess critical skills for organizational success including discipline, responsibility, respect, and unparalleled work ethic.
  • Skills that overlap. Veterans have been trained in specific skills that greatly overlap civilian work. Whether driving an 18-wheel tractor-trailer or leading an organization in an executive position, the military provides people with the training to be successful in trades, as well as the experience and conditioning required for management positions.
  • Diverse backgrounds. The military employs a highly diverse workforce. Approximately 45% of our candidates are women and/or ethnic minorities, enabling you to connect with skilled and diverse candidates through our events.

RecruitMilitary job fair for veterans headed to Oklahoma City

Veterans job fair in Norman draws crowd

“ NORMAN — More than 400 veterans attended an All Veterans Job Fair, networking with veteran-friendly employers including General Electric Co., Xcel Energy, Lockheed Martin and AdvancePierre Foods, to name a few. ”

Local Businesses Commit To Hiring Veterans

“OORE, Oklahoma - President Obama took on the issue of hiring veterans during last night's State of the Union speech. “So to every CEO in America, let me repeat: If you want to hire somebody who's going to get the job done and done right, hire a veteran,” said the President. ”

RecruitMilitary CEO: Hiring Oklahoma's veterans as employees, not charity cases

“Based on last year’s media coverage, Oklahomans would be shocked to learn that there is no veterans’ unemployment crisis. But the numbers don’t lie. The 2014 national unemployment rate for post-9/11 veterans was 7.2 percent, the lowest rate recorded in the metric’s seven-year history. The overall veteran unemployment rate fell to 4.7 percent, lower than the national workforce unemployment rate.”

The Hire More Heroes Act is misguided. There is no veterans’ unemployment crisis.

“Americans may be shocked to learn that there is no veterans’ unemployment crisis. The unemployment rate in 2014 for post-9/11 veterans was 7.2 percent, the lowest level in seven years of tracking these veterans. ”

What Government Should Actually Do To Support Veterans' Employment

“The latest crisis at the Department of Veterans Affairs has called into question again the proper role of government in the care of our veterans. Whereas healthcare is clearly in shambles, veterans’ employment is another realm in which well-meaning government involvement has been inefficient at best and ineffective or counterproductive at worst. ”

Employment and Returning Veterans

“Peter Gudmundsson talked about the availability of jobs for returning service members.”

Beyond Altruism

“Among the fondest memories Peter Gudmundsson ’85 has of his three years as an active-duty U.S. Marine officer was the time in 1987 when, off the coast of Vietnam, he stood on the deck of a U.S. Navy ship looking up at the Soviet planes flying overhead. What was particularly memorable, he says, was not the plane flying overhead, but the reaction of the men in his platoon”

“NBC 4 (KFOR) – An organization that helps find jobs for veterans is coming to Oklahoma City later this week. RecruitMilitary is hosting a Veteran Opportunity Expo for veterans and men and women with a military background.”

TN veterans face tough battle to find employment

“By Naomi Snyder Terry Pack was an aircraft mechanic serving in the Army in Iraq, spending two of the last six years in combat overseas. Now that he's done his service for the country, he can't even get a job doing oil changes at Sears. "It's tough,'' said the unemployed Clarksville veteran, who was honorably discharged in January. "I've been looking for any job." A congressional hea...”

RecruitMilitary has held 15 events in Oklahoma City, drawing 4,550 attendees and 563 exhibitors.
Met a lot of company representatives that led me to a good job with a great company. Thank you for the opportunity to meet with so many companies.
Army E-6 & Oklahoma City Attendee
I really enjoyed this event. We got resumes from some excellent candidates. We have already brought a few to Dallas for interviews.
Oklahoma City Career Fair -- Telecommunications Recruiter
Exceptional event that provided exactly what we spend a lot of time searching for.
Recruiter, Services Industry, January 2013 Oklahoma City Exhibitor
Very much exceeded other events. Very professional and upscale.
General Manager, Financial Services, January 2013 Oklahoma City Exhibitor
Excellent event! I lost my job last week but because of this event, it looks like I may be back to work as early as in a few weeks, plus getting free training!
March 2014 - Veteran Job Seeker, Army National Guard - E6
This event was very well organized and better than other job fairs.
1/30/14 OKC Career Fair -- Government Recruiter
Great location and opportunity to learn about companies dedicated to helping veterans secure employment.
1/30/14 OKC Career Fair -- USMC & USAF O-2E
Now I have a job prospect that I would have missed. Thank you for hosting such a great event.
1/30/14 OKC Career Fair -- USAF E-9
I received a job that very day!
1/30/14 OKC Career Fair -- Army E-6
I thought it was a great event and I have communicated to our corporate recruiting manager that we are interested in doing more around the country.
6/12/14 OKC Career Fair - Services recruiter
In contrast with most employment recruiting activities, each of your presenters was looking at "How can you fit on our team?", rather than "What disqualifies you for this position?"
6/12/14 OKC Career Fair -- Army O-5
I left with at least 4 solid leads for potential positions and have already received word that I'll be interviewed for 2 of those. It was a pleasure to be in an environment where recruiters understand and appreciate the skills that a veteran has to offer.
6/12/14 OKC Career Fair -- Navy O-4
The RecruitMilitary Career Fair connected me with career opportunities in industries that I would not have found otherwise.
6/12/14 OKC Career Fair -- Navy O-3
Four of the people I spoke with today could come work for me tomorrow! Great event!
August 2014 Employer -- Financial Services recruiter
It gave me just the right opportunity I was looking for to change my career for a better future!
9/4/14 Oklahoma City Career Fair -- Army E-1
It was great to have the experience of talking face to face with potential employers. I recommend going. A fantastic experience and great networking tool.
9/4/14 Oklahoma City Career Fair -- USAF E-7
Do your research and dress for the occasion. Bring at least two different resumes, one which targets the job you are trying to land. The other should be a more broad based, generic one highlighting all of the jobs skills you have.
Nov 2014 Attendee -- Navy E-7
The recurring role of "talk to everyone" is extremely important and should be embraced by each job seeker. Please continue to stress the importance of networking, not only with the recruiters but with fellow job seekers to increase the likeliness of finding a hidden opportunity.
1-15-15 San Antonio Career Fair attendee (Army O-3)
I thought the event was outstanding. I have worked with several companies that hold job fairs for military in the past and I feel RecruitMilitary events by far exceed others I have attended. Working with RecruitMilitary for the past 9 years I have experienced nothing but professionalism of the staff and an applicant pool that is rich with valuable experience.
1/22/15 OKC Career Fair -- Government Recruiter
This event was very well organized with a lot of attendees! I loved Doug's enthusiasm before the event started when he asked employers to stand in front of the table and really engage with the veterans. This was, by far, one of the best career fairs I have attended in my 8 years of attending career fairs as an HR Rep!
1-22-15 OKC Career Fair -- Environmental Services Recruiter
Not only were there a lot of job seekers but they are doing a very good job of following up with me. I've been busy all week from job seekers I met there. Excellent!!
1-22-15 OKC Career Fair -- Government Recruiter
Good overall career fair. I came in from three hours away and it was worth the trip. (Army E-8)
1-22-15 OKC Career Fair (Army E-8)
The POC retired Marine Sergeant was a great motivator! After 2 1/2 hours I was exhausted, talked to 90% of company reps and I walked out with three interview offers, one initial interview on site, and five other leads. Any positive results? Heck yeah! A job offer letter in my hands 14 days later! This after 180+ job applications, three job offers declined (all overseas) and only seven phone calls in 7 1/2 months of searching for full time employment. RecruitMilitary Job Fairs work! Thank You!
6/11/15 OKC Career Fair (USAF E-7)
This event is one of the best ones we attend throughout the year.
6/11/15 OKC Career Fair (Environmental Services recruiter)
I have found RecruitMilitary career fairs to be the best.
6/11/15 OKC Career Fair (Manufacturing recruiter)
Twice as productive as other job fairs I have attended.
6/11/15 OKC Career Fair (Army E-7)
